ARC Raiders Photo Quests Not Counting: Bring a Camera, Not Just a Screenshot
On this page
The 2.0 update changes several older photo objectives to use the camera gadget. Merely looking at the location or taking an operating-system screenshot is not the same action. Bring the camera, photograph the quest’s named subject and inspect the actual objective progress before concluding the job is done.

This is an action-and-progress checklist for returning players. It does not supply invented coordinates or a universal framing threshold. Your current quest text determines the required subject and any additional conditions.

What to do, in order
- Read the active objective before deploying and include the required camera in the loadout. An old guide that only says to visit the area can describe the previous procedure.
- At the named subject, use the in-game camera and take the intended picture. Do not substitute a screenshot shortcut for the gadget action.
- Inspect the recorded picture and the current quest state. The developer says camera pictures are stored in the Codex; a saved picture and a satisfied quest are still separate checks.
- Follow any remaining objective or extraction condition shown by the quest. Avoid leaving solely because the photograph looked correct to you.
Choose the check that matches the problem
| Situation | What it means | Useful next decision |
|---|---|---|
| No camera equipped | Fix the loadout requirement. | The operating system’s capture tool does not establish a quest-camera event. |
| Picture exists, no visible progress | Compare the subject and current objective. | A Codex record alone does not prove every quest condition was met. |
| Progress display seems inconsistent | Check the actual quest and current version. | The 2.1 notes include objective-progress display fixes. |
Which older quests were changed?
The release notes name The League, Reduced to Rubble, Life of a Pharmacist, Battening Down and Groundbreaking among the older objectives updated to require photos. Treat those names as a reason to reread the current task rather than follow a historical visit-only instruction.

A practical way to apply the rule
Before a return trip, make a short list: camera packed, subject identified, photograph taken, current objective checked, remaining conditions read. This keeps the evidence tied to the quest. It also makes a useful report if the task still fails: include the quest name and visible state instead of only saying that a screenshot exists.
Common misreadings and failure checks
I stood in the spot from an old guide
The required action may now be a camera photo, not presence alone.
My picture is visible in Codex
That confirms a saved picture, not necessarily the named subject or the full task.
Picking Up the Pieces did not count a loot-icon visit
The 2.1 notes separately fix this specific Pendola Pass objective; do not generalize it to every photo quest.
