This week’s event is the full release
October 15 marks the verified Steam 1.0 release in this coverage. It does not mean the game first became playable that day. Returning Early Access owners and first-time players therefore have different questions: what changed, what carries over and how to begin under the current rules.
Explore, prepare and build a home
The core loop combines gathering resources, crafting equipment, rescuing survivors and exploring a world threatened by the Shroud. Voxel construction and terrain shaping support bases that can become more than a temporary shelter. Travel tools and environmental hazards make preparation relevant to exploration.
Character builds and cooperative roles
The developer presents a flexible skill tree supporting melee, ranged and magical directions, including mixed playstyles. The Steam description lists solo play and co-op for up to 16 players. That is a supported session size, not a claim that every server performs equally or that cross-platform play is available.
What returning players should check first
The release FAQ supports carrying over Early Access saves, while the later hotfix notes describe particular migration exceptions. Read the relevant current guide before concluding that an absent character is lost. Recheck allocated skills and world settings before comparing the new version with an old loadout.
