Tenebris Somnia · Randomized floor puzzle
How the fly tile puzzle works—and why a copied route fails
On this page
Repeat the tile path from the previous room in your current run. Correct steps turn the fly progressively gold. At the final correct tile it becomes fully golden and can be broken, opening the theater route. There is no universal left/right sequence.

The clue belongs to the room you just crossed
After breaking the initial fly statue, the next room asks you to reproduce the same floor-tile pattern you walked in the preceding room. The puzzle guide explicitly marks those patterns as randomized. A screenshot or video can explain the rule without supplying the answer for every save.
Before entering the next attempt, record your own previous route. A quick sketch using the doorway as the origin is more useful than a list of turns with no starting point. Keep the sketch oriented the same way as the screen so that a remembered left turn does not become a right turn after you rotate the drawing.

Read the statue as feedback
- Start from the beginning of the tile route.
- Step onto the tile matching the path from the previous room.
- Check the fly: correct progress makes it more golden.
- If you choose a wrong tile, return to the start and replay the route.
- At the final correct tile, the statue becomes fully gold. Break it to remove the last wing and unlock the theater door.
Do not keep extending an attempt after a wrong tile while hoping the puzzle will accept the remaining steps. The documented recovery is to restart the path. When checking your notes, inspect the first point where the statue stopped progressing; rewriting the entire route can erase the part you had already read correctly.
The reward is on a seated Julia statue
Once the last wing has broken and the theater door opens, enter the theater. Find the Julia statue on a chair near the middle of the room and take the Lead Fly. Opening the theater does not automatically add that key item to your inventory.
Return to the apartment hallway and use the Lead Fly at the locked door bearing the fly insignia. It is a shaped key for that door, not an item you use on the already-broken giant statue.
The later theater return uses a different key
After the final Carnito encounter, take the Tin Key from the wire outside the room. Use it to get back into the hallway, then revisit the theater above the destroyed fly. The middle box opens with the Tin Key and contains the Green Candle.

Combine the Green Candle with the Lighter, then use it at the green wall icon in the stairwell. That unlocks access to Floors 2 and 3 for the next apartment sequence.

Which stage is actually stuck?
Fly never reaches full gold: recheck your current-run tile path. Theater open but insignia door locked: collect the Lead Fly from Julia’s chair. Later floors blocked: follow the Tin Key and Green Candle return, which is a separate checkpoint from the first fly solution.
Once the upstairs route is open, continue with the poems, figures and Glass Box sequence.
