ARC Raiders Anvil Splitter Will Not Equip: The Amplified Anvil Change
On this page
In the 2.0 change, Anvil Splitter stopped being an equipable mod and became an upgrade option for the Amplified Anvil. The Anvil’s Tech Mod slot was removed. An old Splitter item in the stash is therefore not evidence that an equip button or mod slot is broken.

Separate the gun, the old mod item and the new progression path before spending resources. A historical build can describe a real item while still giving the wrong current installation procedure.

What to do, in order
- Inspect the actual Anvil modification screen. Do not search indefinitely for the removed Tech Mod slot.
- If the goal is the Splitter behavior, inspect the Amplified Anvil route through the relevant progression system. Check the Outpost and Research Workstation gates first.
- Treat any old Splitter item as a separate inventory decision. The developer describes selling it or recycling it into Amplified Fragments for amplified-weapon repair.
- Before recycling or selling, check whether you need that currency or repair material more. Do not destroy other reserved supplies simply to recreate an obsolete mod recipe.
Choose the check that matches the problem
| Situation | What it means | Useful next decision |
|---|---|---|
| Old item exists, no slot | That combination is consistent with the announced migration. | Use the new upgrade route rather than an old installation guide. |
| Need the old behavior | Inspect Amplified Anvil eligibility and progression. | Retaining the old item does not bypass the workstation gate. |
| Need resources now | Compare the offered sale with the listed recycle result. | One gives purchasing power; the other supplies a specific material. |
The rarity change is a separate decision
The same update moves Anvil from Green to Blue and positions Bantam as the uncommon hand-cannon option. That matters when evaluating a replacement loadout, but it does not make the two guns mechanically identical. Choosing an affordable substitute and unlocking an amplified branch are different projects.

A practical way to apply the rule
Consider an old stash item with two available outcomes: sell or recycle. Write down the current offer and the repair material result shown by the game. Compare those with the next purchase and the next amplified repair you actually intend to make. This is a resource comparison, not a claim that one option always has the better exchange value.
Common misreadings and failure checks
My old video has a Tech Mod slot
That video can predate the slot removal.
I bought another Anvil but still cannot attach Splitter
The changed installation route is the problem; another ordinary gun does not recreate the removed slot.
Bantam must be the same Anvil in Green
The developer calls it the new uncommon option, not a stat-identical copy.
