How to get more out of Nyra’s Fervent Slide
On this page
Plan where the slide ends before you use it. Fervent Slide carries Nyra forward with her Power Sword, damages and knocks back enemies in the way, and supplies momentum for a higher jump. A clear exit matters more than hitting the largest crowd.
Practise the movement before adding a target
Find a cleared stretch of floor with room beyond it. Check the binding for Fervent Slide, try the slide, then try jumping from its momentum. Compare that with a standing jump. This separates a movement-input problem from an enemy interrupting your route.
The developer confirms the increased jump opportunity but does not publish a frame-perfect timing window in the material used here. Do not assume that holding a particular key for a fixed number of milliseconds is required. Get comfortable with the movement using your own bindings.

Use a short attack-and-exit sequence
- Pick a target on the edge of the group, with open floor behind it.
- Use Fervent Slide through that line rather than aiming at a wall or a solid cluster with no visible exit.
- Use the resulting movement to get clear or gain height with a jump.
- Turn back toward the surviving enemies and resume shooting after you have checked your landing area.
Nyra has a Bolt Pistol, Flamer and Meltagun in her arsenal, but availability depends on what your run has given you. Plan with the weapons you actually have. A slide should reposition you for the next shot; it need not kill every enemy you pass.

Why the same move can keep getting you killed
If you arrive in a corner, shorten your intended route or choose a different angle. If you land beside another pack, inspect the landing spot before starting the jump. If you keep taking fire during the approach, deal with the distant shooter before committing to melee.
Malum’s Chainsword Lunge and charge can close a gap too, but they are not Nyra’s Fervent Slide. Instructions for his movement should not be treated as identical inputs or identical jump behaviour. Against fast melee enemies, also check how to handle Khorne’s rushes.
