Freezing Field is a channeled area spell. Crystal Nova supplies an area slow; Frostbite restricts movement and attacks rather than providing a universal answer to every enemy spell.

Practise the decision step by step
- Identify an enemy who can interrupt a channel and note where that hero is.
- Choose a position where the ultimate can affect the fight without requiring you to walk through the enemy front line first.
- Use your available control to help the team hold a target; do not assume a rooted enemy cannot use any ability.
- Begin the channel when the position is useful, and watch the actual effect of enemy interruption rather than continuing the same entry every fight.
The mistake to look for
Casting the ultimate simply because it is ready can expose a fragile support before the team establishes control. A movement restriction and a full spell disable are different effects.
A controlled demo exercise
Use demo mode to cast Nova, Frostbite and the ultimate separately. Move the enemy target between attempts and inspect what stops movement, what stops attacks and what actually interrupts your channel.
Keep the setup consistent between attempts: same hero state, same target arrangement and the same abilities available. Change one decision, observe the outcome, then repeat. If an item, upgrade or new patch changes the ability, read that effect before comparing the attempts.
Use this in a real match
Before acting, name the immediate objective: control a target, protect an ally, maintain position or create a damage opportunity. After the fight, review whether your chosen action produced that objective. The outcome of the match alone does not tell you which part of the sequence worked.
