Kunkka X Marks the Spot and Torrent: practise the return timing

X Marks the Spot records a hero’s location and later returns that hero there; Kunkka can trigger the return during its duration. Torrent has a delay, so the two actions need deliberate timing.

Practise the decision step by step

  1. Mark the point where the hero will return rather than aiming follow-up at the hero’s temporary moving position.
  2. Observe Torrent’s current delay in your client before attempting to align it with Return.
  3. Practise the order and delay on a stationary setup, then repeat on a moving hero.
  4. Use the allied-target option carefully: a return can also interrupt the route your teammate intended to take.

The mistake to look for

Remembering the destination without practising the timing can produce a spell at the right place but the wrong moment. Do not copy an old fixed delay without checking the current build.

A controlled demo exercise

Mark a demo hero, move it away, then trigger Return. Add Torrent at the marked location and adjust one timing choice per attempt. Record your observations rather than calling the diagram a frame-perfect combo.

Keep the setup consistent between attempts: same hero state, same target arrangement and the same abilities available. Change one decision, observe the outcome, then repeat. If an item, upgrade or new patch changes the ability, read that effect before comparing the attempts.

Use this in a real match

Before acting, name the immediate objective: control a target, protect an ally, maintain position or create a damage opportunity. After the fight, review whether your chosen action produced that objective. The outcome of the match alone does not tell you which part of the sequence worked.

This page is a focused mechanics lesson. It does not supply a universal item build, talent order, exact timing script or ranked win-rate claim. Team composition, items and current balance changes can alter the best choice.
