Vengeful Spirit Nether Swap: inspect both landing positions
On this page
Nether Swap exchanges Vengeful Spirit’s location with an allied or enemy hero and interrupts the target’s channel. A save changes two heroes’ positions, not just the endangered ally’s.
Follow the practice steps ↓Mechanics checked October 17, 2026 against Valve’s hero data · Editorial practice advice · Not match-tested
Practise the decision step by step
- Identify where your ally will land and whether that location is genuinely safer.
- Inspect where you will land in exchange; a save can expose you to the danger you removed from your teammate.
- Use an enemy-target swap only when your team can exploit the new position.
- After the swap, reassess movement and control immediately instead of continuing the plan from your old location.
The mistake to look for
Looking only at the target circle hides half of the ability. A swapped ally may still be threatened if your original position was also exposed.
A controlled demo exercise
Set up a simple demo scenario with two marked positions. Swap an ally and then an enemy between them. Describe the benefit and the risk for each landing point before casting.
Keep the setup consistent between attempts: same hero state, same target arrangement and the same abilities available. Change one decision, observe the outcome, then repeat. If an item, upgrade or new patch changes the ability, read that effect before comparing the attempts.
Use this in a real match
Before acting, name the immediate objective: control a target, protect an ally, maintain position or create a damage opportunity. After the fight, review whether your chosen action produced that objective. The outcome of the match alone does not tell you which part of the sequence worked.
This page is a focused mechanics lesson. It does not supply a universal item build, talent order, exact timing script or ranked win-rate claim. Team composition, items and current balance changes can alter the best choice.
