Fatal Bonds links visible enemies so damage to one can affect others. Upheaval is a channel with an effect that develops over time; Chaotic Offering is a separate area summon and stun.

Practise the decision step by step

  1. Identify the group of enemies your team can actually pressure.
  2. Apply bonds with visibility and target grouping in mind, then direct follow-up toward the connected opportunity.
  3. Choose a safe channel position if using Upheaval; being interrupted is different from enemies leaving its area.
  4. After a major cast, continue controlling your own hero and any summoned unit rather than treating the initial spell as the entire fight.

The mistake to look for

Linking units that your team cannot reach may create little practical pressure. Avoid confusing theoretical shared damage with damage your team can deliver now.

A controlled demo exercise

Use several demo enemies and compare damage after a successful link with damage before it. Then test the channel separately, watching how its effect changes as enemies remain or leave.

Keep the setup consistent between attempts: same hero state, same target arrangement and the same abilities available. Change one decision, observe the outcome, then repeat. If an item, upgrade or new patch changes the ability, read that effect before comparing the attempts.

Use this in a real match

Before acting, name the immediate objective: control a target, protect an ally, maintain position or create a damage opportunity. After the fight, review whether your chosen action produced that objective. The outcome of the match alone does not tell you which part of the sequence worked.

This page is a focused mechanics lesson. It does not supply a universal item build, talent order, exact timing script or ranked win-rate claim. Team composition, items and current balance changes can alter the best choice.
