Check output space, spoilage removal and nutrient fuel before adding harvest. A biochamber needs nutrients to operate, while spoiled inputs and blocked outputs can stop the line. More fruit does not resolve either obstruction.

Original recovery sequence: clear outputs, remove spoilage, supply nutrients, restart a small batch

Restore one machine first

  1. Inspect the machine’s status and output slots. Make room for the intended products before sending in more material.
  2. Inspect spoilage trash and its extraction route. Ensure the destination belt or container can also accept the waste.
  3. Supply nutrient fuel and the recipe’s required ingredients; these are separate needs.
  4. Run a small fresh batch and observe both the product exit and waste removal.
  5. Restore harvesting gradually after that cycle works.

Machines handling spoilables have trash slots, and full trash can stop work. A full normal output can also prevent spoil-based trash handling from working normally. Clear the downstream blockage rather than assuming the problem is only a slow waste inserter.

If nutrient production depends on the stopped biochamber

The spoilage-to-nutrients recipe can run in an assembling machine 2 or better, offering a startup route that does not itself require nutrient fuel. Check the recipe and technology in your save, make a starter supply, then feed the biochamber. Treat it as a recovery path, not proof that every production line should rely on that recipe permanently.

Avoid rebuilding the same blockage

Large buffers of perishable intermediates keep ageing while they wait. Favor a working flow to the consumer and a route for spoilage over a bigger chest. Inherited freshness also means processing an old ingredient does not generally create a completely fresh product.

For a practical test, reduce the harvested batch and watch where the first item waits: input, machine output, belt or final consumer. Fix that location before increasing supply again. Keep waste destinations available; moving spoilage into a full chest only moves the point of failure.

Science delivery needs its own waste exit

Labs can pass science packs along, but spoilage does not use that same pass-through behavior. Provide each lab with a way to remove its spoilage rather than expecting the next lab to take it. This prevents an apparently healthy science transport line from hiding a waste blockage at the end.
