Mycopunk Eye of the Storm: Keep Using Fungal Skewer
On this page
With Eye of the Storm equipped, tap utility to create Fungal Skewer. Sporelift builds infection; Eye of the Storm consumes it while firing, using your infection before firing to determine decay.
Tap utility to keep using Fungal Skewer
With Eye of the Storm equipped, tap the utility input to create a Fungal Skewer. Patch 2.0.2 explicitly preserves this tap action alongside the upgrade’s firing behavior. If you have been holding the input every time, try a brief press and watch for the skewer emerging from the ground.
Use the utility binding shown for your own control layout. Test the short press with room around you so another attack does not hide the animation. Once you can distinguish the skewer from the sustained effect, bring the two inputs back into an ordinary fight.

Use Sporelift to build infection
Mycologist’s infection passive builds through Sporelift. Patch 2.0.3 corrected a description that had incorrectly pointed to Fungal Skewer. If you were repeatedly creating skewers to follow that old text, switch to Sporelift and watch the infection feedback while using the ability.
Leave space for the upward movement when practicing it. The official demonstration below shows the lift taking Mycologist above the nearby enemies. Use that clear change in height to recognize the ability you are testing, then return attention to the combat area before landing.

Read infection before firing Eye of the Storm
Eye of the Storm consumes infection as you fire. The decay applied by the upgrade depends on how infected you are before you begin firing. Check that starting state before comparing two uses of the effect.
- Use Sporelift and check your infection state.
- Begin firing Eye of the Storm and watch the infection drain.
- End the use, then rebuild infection before making another comparison.
- Tap utility separately when you want Fungal Skewer.
Keep the equipped upgrades unchanged for those comparisons. Starting one attempt with little infection and another with much more infection introduces a difference before the attack begins. Recording the starting state makes it easier to understand why the two attempts drain differently.
Check the patch and the upgrade description
Update before troubleshooting the two descriptions. Version 2.0.2 clarifies Eye of the Storm’s consumption and the retained tap input; 2.0.3 corrects the ability named by the infection passive. Read the current text after installing those fixes.
If the upgrade itself seems weaker after changing its shape, inspect its preview too. The 1.0 Pattern Infusion rules reduce most stats when a pattern becomes smaller. Keep that change separate while testing the utility input so you can identify which behavior you are trying to correct.
Finish the check with two recognizable actions: a short utility press produces the skewer, and Sporelift produces the upward movement used to build infection. Then compare Eye of the Storm from a recorded starting infection state. Those checkpoints give you a repeatable way to check the ability after changing a binding or rearranging upgrades.
