Register the dungeon locations at Hildir’s map table, then enter a Smouldering Tomb in the Black Forest. Brenna drops Hildir’s Brass Chest. Bring blunt damage and fire protection, and plan a return route for a 200-weight chest that cannot use a normal wooden portal.

Standard, unmodded equipment and Hildir quest rules; normal portal restrictions noted where relevant.

Find the special tomb, not another ordinary crypt

Meet Hildir in the Meadows and interact with the map table in front of her. The registered destinations distinguish her special dungeons from the ordinary Burial Chambers scattered around the Black Forest.

A Smouldering Tomb entrance resembles a Burial Chamber but has lit iron torches beside it. Confirm the location name when you enter. Do not assume that the surrounding biome means the enemies are tuned like the first skeleton dungeon you cleared.

Clear the approach before committing to Brenna

Deal with the Skeletons and Ghosts along the route and note the rooms where you can retreat. Carry healing, food and a repaired weapon. Fire-resistance preparation addresses Brenna’s fire attacks; a weapon with blunt damage addresses her documented physical weakness.

Avoid bringing fire damage as your main answer to a burning skeleton. The reference lists her as immune to fire and poison and resistant to pierce. Frost is a useful alternative if you already own suitable gear, but acquiring a later weapon is not a prerequisite for understanding this fight.

Read the sword and the ground stab differently

For her ordinary sword attack, leave enough stamina to move or defend after your own hit. When she plants the sword for the circular fire nova, create space instead of continuing the damage race in the blast area.

Choose a short attack window after an attack finishes, then reset. If another enemy enters the room, clear the extra pressure before recommitting. This plan depends on recognizing the attack and maintaining space; it does not assume a specific shield can safely parry every hit.

The return trip is part of the quest

Pick up Hildir’s Brass Chest and check carry weight before leaving. It weighs 200. Ordinary wooden portals reject it under normal world rules, although a stone portal or changed transport settings can change the route available to you. Prepare a boat, road or staged carry instead of discovering this restriction at a distant portal.

Return the chest to Hildir to unlock the matching stock. One of each chest type is enough for its unlock. Also consider base defenses before killing the miniboss: defeating it can enable its raid event; withholding the chest from Hildir does not prevent that trigger.
