Update to the build that includes Patch 1.0.20 before judging trophy farming. The patch makes monster star level increase trophy drop chance and preserves pseudo-random rare-drop logic between player sessions. Repeatedly restarting a session is therefore not a documented shortcut to the next rare drop.

Check installed patch; Compare like-for-like targets; Count time + actual drops
Original check sequence, not a gameplay capture or measured outcome.

Start with this sequence

  1. Record the installed version before extending a farming run. Keep an older run separate from observations made after the trophy-drop changes.
  2. Track the creature and its star level. Do not combine unlike targets into one apparent drop-rate result.
  3. Keep counts of kills and trophies from the same conditions if you want to compare approaches. Label this as your own small sample, not an official probability.
  4. Judge whether the tougher target is worthwhile for your equipment and recovery time. A higher chance per kill alone does not tell you the fastest trophies per hour.

What the patch changes

Iron Gate explicitly links star level with increased trophy chance, and fixes the loss of pseudo-random drop state between sessions. It does not publish a universal trophy percentage, a guaranteed kill count or the internal state of your next drop. That distinction matters: the patch explains why an old farming result can be misleading without giving you a timer you can count down.

Compare time as well as chance

For a practical comparison, write down how long it takes you to find, fight and loot each target type. Include recovery after failed fights. If a starred target takes much longer or repeatedly costs your gear, its better per-kill chance may not make your current route more productive. This is a resource-planning consideration; it is not a claim about the exact probability of a particular trophy.

Why relogging is a poor experiment

A session restart changes your play session, but the updated rare-drop logic is designed to persist across that boundary. Do not present a restart ritual as a reset exploit. If a trophy arrives after you reconnect, that sequence alone does not demonstrate that reconnecting caused it. Keep playing under consistent conditions instead of interrupting every few kills to chase an unsupported trick.

Bear-rug plans and missing information

The developer specifically mentions bear rugs when introducing the fix, making trophy availability a concrete crafting concern. However, the note does not provide a rug recipe, material quantities or exact drop probabilities. Check the actual crafting requirement in your installed game before committing materials. Do not treat every bear kill as a guaranteed trophy or promise a rug after an invented number of encounters.

If a long dry run continues

Collect your build, creature, star level, kill count and session history before reporting it. Keep a possible bug report separate from a statistical conclusion: a short run with no trophy does not establish zero chance. The useful report is a reproducible description of what you did and what appeared, not a claim that the patch must be broken because the first few kills were unlucky.
