Keep Sands of Inaros active and the Sacred Vessel equipped in Gear. Its glyph selects one enemy from a group for each stage: 60 kills, then 20, then 5. Killing the wrong faction member, leaving the quest inactive or testing in the Simulacrum will not fill it.

Ordinary Warframes and standard quest rewards; quest and reward spoilers below.

Buy and craft the quest rather than waiting for a random stock rotation

At Mastery Rank 5, obtain the Sands of Inaros quest blueprint from Baro Ki’Teer. His evergreen offer costs 100 Ducats and 25,000 Credits; another player can also trade the blueprint. Craft it in the Foundry and read Baro’s message to begin.

Complete the first tomb visit, take the Sacred Vessel and equip it in Gear. Keep the quest active in the Codex while earning kills. The vessel’s presence in your inventory alone does not replace those two setup checks.

Match the symbol before selecting a farming mission

Vessel stageOne of these targetsRequired kills
FirstDetron Crewman, Seeker or Volatile Runner60
SecondRailgun MOA, Hyekka Master or Brood Mother20
ThirdBursa, Manic or Juggernaut5

Your glyph chooses one target in the row, not all three. Inspect it beside the Orbiter’s Codex area and use the linked reference’s glyph images to identify it before farming. Confirm progress with the kill sound and the filling symbol after a small number of the correct kills.

Return the filled vessel before earning the next set

When Baro announces completion, go back to the tomb quest on Mars. Place the current vessel at the marked door, take the next one and finish the encounter. Extract before starting the next vessel’s kill requirement.

The first return includes a large group of Feral Kavats. Bring a scanner beforehand if you want Kavat Genetic Codes from that opportunity. The quest is not freely replayable just by buying another key, so do not postpone a scan you specifically want until a supposed second run.

Separate a target kill from a nearby interaction

A Bursa must die to count; hacking one is not the kill. Simulacrum kills do not fill the vessel. If a long run produces no visible progress, check the exact enemy subtype and the active quest before changing weapons or collecting more kills.

On the later tomb visits, finish the smaller guardians that split from the larger ones. In the final Protector fight, attack the awakened Effigy when the Protector retreats and becomes invulnerable. Shooting the protected sarcophagus does not move that phase forward.

Know the rewards without spoiling Baro’s ending

The first visit gives the main Inaros Blueprint; the return encounters supply Neuroptics, Chassis and Systems in order. The final vessel becomes an Orbiter decoration. The story explains Baro’s connection to the tomb, but you do not need to read that reveal to select the right enemy or finish the build.
