Complete the Outpost project to unlock the Outpost and access its research station. The developer’s Amplified Weapons explanation requires a fully upgraded Research Workstation for the fifth quality level on eligible weapons. Owning the weapon alone is not the full unlock chain.

This is a progression-gate checklist rather than a claimed material-by-material quest walkthrough. It helps identify whether your next action belongs to a project, a workstation or a particular weapon. Do not farm a speculative recipe while the earlier gate is still unresolved.

What to do, in order

  1. Inspect the Outpost project and its active quest. The release notes specifically remind players to accept the quest and bring a camera.
  2. Complete the project’s currently displayed objectives instead of assuming a photograph or a loose material hand-in completed the entire chain.
  3. After unlocking the Outpost, inspect access to the research station and its available upgrades. Keep workstation progression separate from decorating a module.
  4. Once the required workstation state is reached, check whether the chosen weapon has an eligible amplification path. Do not generalize one supported weapon’s options to the whole arsenal.

A new home and a new weapon system are connected but distinct

The Outpost can be expanded with modules and furnished using learned Designs. The Research Workstation is the part of the developer’s explanation that leads to higher-level weapon customization. Keep the next useful unlock in focus: a decorative project can be worthwhile without advancing the weapon gate you are currently trying to solve. For Mobile-Fire Grip Fittings in particular, the 2.1 notes correct the research requirement to Skulker Targeters rather than Skulker Drivers. Use the current recipe instead of farming the older ingredient.

A practical way to apply the rule

If the current obstacle is a workstation upgrade, make its displayed requirements the next acquisition list. If the obstacle is the weapon’s eligible branch, more furniture or another copy of the same gun will not establish access by themselves. This sequence avoids spending a raid gathering materials for the wrong part of the chain.

Common misreadings and failure checks

My project tracker still lists an installed module

The 2.1 notes fix installed module recipes remaining in the tracker. Compare the actual installed state.

I have a furniture Design, so the advanced bench should be ready

A learned furnishing and a completed workstation upgrade are different progression states.

The upgrade tree is hard to follow

In 2.1, focusing or hovering an available weapon-amplification node highlights its path unless blocked.
