Use Dragon Lance into Hurricane Pike to support attack access and separation, then choose Manta or BKB for the disable that actually stops you. Marksmanship is disabled by a nearby enemy hero within its listed 300-unit range. More attack damage cannot replace solving that close-range problem.

The build is organized around keeping Drow’s attacks useful after an enemy reaches her. It is not a generic instruction to remain far away. Gust, Pike, a dispel choice and the eventual damage purchase each have a concrete job in recovering or preserving an attack window.

Damage branchAdd damage only after identifying a usable firing intervalChoose against the actual target’s defenses rather than filling a standard sixth slot.

Cast order and the commitment

  1. Keep Gust for the enemy approach that requires knockback or silence, instead of automatically spending it as minor harassment.
  2. Use the appropriate Pike interaction to restore separation. Check facing and the intended target when using a push; an active item is not a promise that every gap closes in your favor.
  3. Use Multishot when its channel and firing direction fit the opportunity. Resume attacks when doing so supports the current target rather than treating the two actions as interchangeable.

Skill priorities for this plan

Frost Arrows supplies a slow and bonus damage; Gust and Multishot answer different access and wave-pressure problems. Marksmanship’s proximity rule remains a separate check from attack range. The current Multishot description allows slow movement and item use during the channel, so do not assume every defensive item must wait for it to finish.

Talent branches: choose the failure you need to solve

TierCurrent alternativesPurpose
10Frost Arrows mana cost / Multishot arrowsRepeated attack resource use versus channel contribution.
15Attack range / Multishot cooldownAttack access versus more frequent channels.
20Gust movement / Multishot damageRepositioning after the control versus a stronger channel.
25Marksmanship chance / Multishot wavesAttack-focused pressure versus more channel output.

These are decision branches from the reviewed talent labels. Exact values can change; inspect the current selection panel before committing the point.

What the interaction actually changes

The listed Marksmanship disable range is 300. Pike’s function is therefore more than adding a damage stat: creating separation can restore a condition the passive needs. That does not establish that every Pike cast escapes every enemy or that base armor, bonus armor and full damage reduction are the same calculation.

Reserve mana for the whole sequence

Cast or itemListed mana cost
Gust55
Multishot115
Manta Style125
Hurricane Pike150
Black King Bar50

55 + 115 + 125 + 150 + 50 = 495 mana. This subtotal covers Gust, rank-4 Multishot, Manta, Pike and BKB. Ten separate rank-4 Frost Arrows attacks add 120 mana, making the complete illustrative reserve 615. These ten attacks are separate from Multishot’s own cost.

This is a sum of listed costs before mana-cost modifiers, regeneration or omitted actives, not a prediction of your exact displayed mana after the fight.

When the build fails, change the right part

My attacks lost their expected impact after a jump

Inspect whether an enemy hero is within Marksmanship’s disable range.

Manta did not remove the dangerous effect

Verify the effect’s dispel rules rather than treating basic dispel as a general cleanse.

The whole spell sequence fits, but the attacks stop

Reserve mana for the intended Frost Arrows attacks as well as the channel and item actives.
