Craft the Abyssal Razor at a level-2 Workbench using 4 Finewood, 20 Chitin and 2 Leather Scraps. The recipe uses Ocean materials instead of ingots. Its leap attack costs more stamina than a normal strike, so keep room for a retreat.

Standard, unmodded equipment and Hildir quest rules; normal portal restrictions noted where relevant.

Set a Chitin target before leaving the boat

The initial knife takes 20 Chitin. If you are also making the Abyssal Harpoon, reserve another 30: 20 + 30 = 50 Chitin for the two first crafts. That calculation excludes upgrades and other Chitin equipment.

Take a pickaxe onto the Leviathan, collect the broken barnacles’ drops and watch for the creature shaking. Its back can submerge; it is not a permanent mining island. Keep enough stamina to swim and climb back into the boat rather than spending the whole bar on one more harvest.

A boat and a safe return route matter more than a large metal stockpile for the Chitin trip. This official Ocean view does not mark a guaranteed Leviathan.

Build the first quality before committing the rest

Collect Finewood and Leather Scraps, touch all three ingredients with the character who will craft, and use a level-2 Workbench. The knife does not require a Forge or a pile of Iron merely because it is useful around that stage of progression.

Through ordinary quality 4, that is 20 + 10 + 20 + 40 = 90 Chitin. A budget of 20 makes the weapon; it does not fully upgrade it.

Use the short reach deliberately

The primary attack is a short three-hit sequence, with a stronger final hit. Stay close enough for the strikes to connect, but do not continue a chain if the target has moved away or another enemy is about to hit your side.

The secondary leap closes distance and commits more stamina. Try it from level ground with a clear landing area before using it beside a cliff or in a crowded fight. Having enough stamina to launch does not mean you have enough to block or dodge afterward.

A sneak opening is a condition, not every hit

The knife’s backstab modifier applies to an unaware enemy; simply standing behind an enemy that already knows you are there does not recreate the opening. Separate that first attack from the weapon’s ordinary damage when comparing it to your current equipment.

If the target resists the Razor’s physical damage or you cannot safely stay in knife range, switch weapons. Its accessible material route makes it an option, not an automatic replacement for every weapon in your inventory.
