Check Personal, Mission and Tactical Binds together before committing a loadout. A fix for one restriction can worsen another: airborne movement can reduce some grounded penalties, while Cumulonimbus punishes time in the air. Do not solve a Personal Bind in isolation from the mission the squad will actually play.

Do these checks in order

  1. State the failure your build must avoid: movement damage, energy pressure, an unsuitable weapon type or unreliable defense.
  2. Read all three modifier categories, then identify conflicts between your intended answer and another restriction.
  3. Choose the smallest equipment or role change that addresses the actual combination. Check that a teammate’s assigned job remains covered.
  4. Review the final shared selection and your persistent Personal Bind before entering. Another key winning the vote does not erase your personal penalty.

Movement example: jumping is not a universal solution

The documented Firewalker and Knifestep personal penalties are reduced or paused by airborne movement, but the Cumulonimbus tactical modifier deals accumulating electrical damage while airborne. A plan to stay in the air indefinitely therefore answers only half of that combination. Treat this as a conflict to evaluate before launch, not a recommendation that the interaction is harmless.

Energy example: reserve and sustained supply differ

Constricted reduces maximum energy, while Energy Exhaustion drains energy for nearby enemies. A larger reserve and the ability to sustain casting under pressure are different jobs. Build the resource plan around the actual penalty you selected. Do not assume that carrying a familiar energy-heavy configuration makes its ability sequence affordable under every Cryobell.

Weapon example: use the mission’s actual constraint

Heavy Warfare reduces damage from non-heavy weapons and provides heavy-ammo support; Myopic Munitions requires a player within the stated distance before enemies take damage. A distant conventional weapon plan can therefore fail for reasons unrelated to its usual damage ranking. Read whether the problem is weapon class, proximity or both before changing elemental Mods.

Choose a role that still functions

Assign objective handling, recovery and damage responsibilities after checking restrictions. If a proposed modifier counter removes the only dependable recovery role, revisit the squad plan. This guide is a decision method based on named modifiers, not a claim that one frame or a paper calculation guarantees survival against every randomized combination.
