SLB defense build: soups, turrets and Healing Station
On this page
Fuel the Generator, cover an enemy approach with a suitable turret, and keep a Healing Station available for team recovery. Add Vegetable Soup for firing uptime, Pork Stew for HP and mobility, and Spiced Broth for knockdown support as resources allow. Reserve supplies for the weak part of the defense.
A destroyed activated Capacitor loses its progress, so defend it throughout the charge. Choose the next purchase from the part of the setup that failed.

Start with three jobs, then spend the materials
- Power and preparation: identify the cable route and obtain Gas Cans for the Generator before expecting the Capacitor to charge.
- Damage and control: decide which approach needs sustained fire and which needs enemies slowed or interrupted.
- Recovery: leave a way to restore the team after pressure breaks through. A damage purchase does not automatically solve a downed defender.
These are jobs, not mandatory player classes. In a smaller team, one player may cover more than one. State who will cover the objective while somebody handles supplies, a stationary weapon or a recovery interaction. If everyone leaves the same job uncovered, more individual firepower may still produce another reset.
Use the soup choice to support the job

| Soup | Documented effect | Useful decision |
|---|---|---|
| Vegetable Soup | Reload speed and recoil benefits | Support the player who must keep a firing lane working. |
| Pork Stew | More HP and movement speed | Consider it for a role that must move between interactions under pressure. |
| Spiced Broth | Increased knockdown effect on hits | Add control when enemies reach the objective before the damage plan can stop them. |
The mode permits up to three different soup types at once. That is a reason to consider complementary effects, not evidence that three copies of the same soup stack. Regular and Superior tiers differ in effect and duration, and buffs expire. Time your preparation around the next defense instead of consuming everything long before it is needed.
If resources are short, identify the last failure first. A faster reload is helpful when firing uptime is the problem; it does not repair missing fuel. More personal HP does not make the Capacitor immune. Prioritize the buff that supports the job currently failing, then expand the setup when resources allow.
Choose deployables by the gap in the defense

A Light Turret fires when an enemy crosses its detection laser, so check the actual approach rather than treating any empty floor spot as equivalent. A manned turret supplies sustained fire but commits a player to a stationary position. Decide who keeps the other jobs covered before assigning that player to the turret.
The Healing Station restores health, removes debuffs and revives downed allies within its area. Place the recovery plan where the team can realistically use it, while respecting the available placement options. Do not count a fully dead teammate as merely downed: the documented death recovery uses their Blue Chip at a Recall Station in a Safehouse.
Keep a non-fire answer. Hungers wearing fire-resistant suits ignore Flamethrower fire damage. If your defense is built entirely around fire, another fire purchase does not resolve that matchup. Reassign a suitable source of damage rather than assuming the weapon stopped working for every enemy.
Fit carry-over equipment to the plan you actually have
If you have an Engineer Helmet, its deployable-damage benefit fits an offensive deployment role; that wording does not establish a larger Healing Station heal. Supply Belt improves soup effects, while Endurance Belt improves their duration. Choose between stronger relevant effects and longer coverage according to your role and the stage, not a made-up universal ranking.
Read the current item and recipe descriptions before committing rare materials. The announcement gives effect categories, but not a complete numeric build simulator. This guide does not invent damage multipliers, crafting totals or a fixed wave schedule.
After a reset, change the failed part
- No charge: check power and the Generator before adding another damage item.
- Charged objective destroyed: inspect which approach remained uncovered and why the control or damage job failed.
- Team collapses while equipment survives: revisit recovery access and player responsibilities.
- Flamethrower ineffective against particular Hungers: check the fire-resistant suit exception.
Keep the successful parts of the setup. Changing every weapon, soup and deployment at once makes it difficult to identify which adjustment solved the failure.
