Dressmaker · Troubleshooting · Build 443 reference
No customers or commissions in Dressmaker?
On this page
Open the sketchbook and turn through its pages to look for another open commission before restarting your save. The developer confirms that page navigation reveals other open commissions. Seeing an off-rack page alone does not establish that your commission has disappeared.
Go straight to the checks ↓Reviewed October 17, 2026 · Source-based troubleshooting · Not gameplay-tested

Start with these checks
- Open the sketchbook. Read which design or request the currently visible page describes. Do not use the absence of a new visitor as proof that all work is finished.
- Use the sketchbook’s page navigation. Continue through the available pages rather than stopping at the first off-rack design. In the linked player discussion, one person reported finding a commission after several off-rack pages.
- Read any open commission you find. Compare its request with the job you thought you had completed. Note the displayed name and wording before changing a design. This is an inspection step, not an instruction to make a guessed replacement dress.
- Separate finding a request from completing it. If a request is visible, return to its requirements. For panel identification, see our pattern placement guide; for cutting controls, see the cutting-room reference.
- If no relevant page appears, stop treating this as a confirmed navigation problem. Keep the save and document the mismatch for developer support instead of restarting solely because of this checklist.
What the sources establish
The developer’s Build 443 notes explicitly mention paging through the sketchbook to see other open commissions. They also distinguish the off-rack sale action with a clearer label in the photo scene. These are interface facts, not proof that every stalled progression report has the same cause.
The Steam discussion about missing customers contains reports of an apparently unresponsive bell and of commissions found through page navigation. Other participants still described difficulties. These are individual player reports; we have not reproduced them or established a universal recovery method.
Choose your next action
| What you find | Next action |
|---|---|
| An open commission on another page | Read that request and establish what remains unfinished. |
| Only off-rack designs after checking available pages | Record the build and visible pages; the navigation check has not resolved your case. |
| A request that differs from your memory | Capture the discrepancy before changing it; do not invent its completion conditions. |
What to include in a useful bug report
Record your installed build, the last action you completed, whether you saved and reloaded, what the bell does, and what appears when you turn sketchbook pages. Attach your own relevant screenshots when reporting to the developer. Distinguish what you observed from what you expected.
We do not recommend deleting a save, installing an unofficial fix, or spending resources on an unrelated off-rack dress as a guaranteed reset. The available evidence supports checking the book first; it does not prove those interventions repair your specific situation.
