Warframe Icebind Rewards: Crested Keys, Frozen Keys and When Cryobells Are Spent

Cryobells enter The Icebind; they are not the same as reward-room keys. Mission completion earns a Crested Frozen Key and the guaranteed Riven Splicer. Optional squad objectives earn ordinary Frozen Keys, up to three per mission. Use the matching chests in Melica’s Glacial Laboratory, then follow the extraction marker.

Do these checks in order
- Before launch, identify the Cryobell as the entry resource. The official launch rules say it is not spent until successful extraction.
- During the run, decide which optional objectives the squad can complete safely. A failed side objective can cost the mission rather than simply forfeit its bonus.
- In the laboratory, use the Crested key for the central Crested chest and ordinary Frozen Keys for the peripheral Frozen chests.
- Collect the earned rewards and complete extraction. A transition problem after host migration should be investigated separately from a missing bonus roll.
Three resources, three jobs
Calling all of them keys hides the cause of many misunderstandings. The Cryobell belongs to mission access, the Crested key belongs to successful main completion, and ordinary Frozen Keys belong to completed side objectives. Ask which resource is missing before repeating the activity or accusing a reward table of being wrong.
Do not read a reward list as a guaranteed bundle
The completion and bonus chests have separate pools. A list of possible Kuva amounts, Rivens or other items does not mean one chest awards all listed entries. Use the developer’s linked live drop table for exact probabilities; this guide does not assign made-up odds to a short sample of openings.
The guaranteed material has a purpose
A Riven Splicer is used by the Riven Splicing system. Before spending one, read the selected trait pair and confirm the positive/negative layout you intend to retain. Earning the material does not make every compatible Riven a good candidate for your build.
If the room or extraction is missing
Hotfix 44.1.2 addresses host-migration returns during paused extraction and a specific Mars Excavation case ending with Cryothermia. Record the sequence rather than treating a transport failure as evidence that the Riven Splicer stopped being guaranteed. Keep the end-of-mission record and update the client before another attempt.
