We Were Here Tomorrow Resin Recipe: 4, 3, 1, 4 and the Nozzle Positions
On this page
Add Styrene → Acrylonitrile → Butadiene → Styrene, one dose at each step. The numbered selector sequence is 4 → 3 → 1 → 4. Move the cup under the matching nozzle before each dose, then use the check button after all four ingredients are in.
Give each player one part of the mixing job
The resin station follows the miniature circuit-board section in R&D. The small explorer works inside the chamber, moving the cup and its block between the dispensing positions. The full-sized explorer reads the recipe and numbered list and operates the selector outside. Use the chemical names to coordinate across the glass.
Locate the three labelled nozzle positions before turning the selector. The chamber labels identify Acrylonitrile, Butadiene and Styrene. The outside list has five entries, so read the full chemical name beside a selector number. The two extra names, Slyreen and Hutadyne, are decoys with no working nozzle for this recipe.

Turn the recipe into four doses
The note calls for Acrylonitrile followed by an equal portion of Butadiene, with Styrene added before and after that mixture. That gives two middle ingredients and two stabilising doses. A checklist helps keep the second Styrene dose visible even after you have used that nozzle once.

| Dose | Cup beneath | Selector | Confirm before continuing |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Styrene | 4 | First dose received |
| 2 | Acrylonitrile | 3 | Second dose received |
| 3 | Butadiene | 1 | Third dose received |
| 4 | Styrene | 4 | Fourth dose received; ready to check |
Align the cup before selecting a chemical
The miniature explorer should move the block beneath Styrene and stop. Call “Styrene, dose one, cup ready.” The outside partner reads back “selector four” before dispensing. Watch the cup receive the dose, then cross off the first row. Move to Acrylonitrile only after that confirmation.

Repeat the same handoff at the next two positions, identifying the ingredient by its label. At the final step, return to the Styrene position and call “dose four.” Numbering the dose avoids a common conversation problem: both players remember hearing “Styrene,” but one means the first addition and the other means the last.
If the cup appears offset, use the larger explorer’s view through the window to help centre it. The selector and the receiving position must correspond. When nothing is added, inspect the cup’s position and the selected chemical before counting the step as complete.

Use the check button after dose four
Once the last Styrene addition has registered, pause and read the completed list once: four, three, one, four. Then operate the station’s check button. Watch the mixture process and the room’s response before moving away. Successful processing advances the laboratory route.
Keep the check separate from the dispensing callouts. Saying “button now” midway through the recipe can send the current partial mixture for evaluation. Use “check the finished mixture” only once both players agree that all four rows are complete.
Recover from an empty cup or rejected batch
A rejected mixture empties the cup. Begin again at dose one with Styrene. Mark all four checklist rows unused so the next attempt starts from a clear state. Adding the last ingredient to an emptied cup would leave only that new dose inside it.
If you selected 2 or 5, return to the numbered chemical list and find the matching real nozzle name. If you started with Acrylonitrile, rebuild the batch from the first Styrene dose. If the order was correct but the cup missed one squirt, correct the placement and repeat a complete four-dose attempt.
The Simplified Chinese recipe text can display Butadiene twice in the same phrase. Follow the four-dose chemistry order above: one Acrylonitrile dose, one Butadiene dose, and Styrene on both sides. Count successful additions at the cup instead of counting repeated words on that line.
If the radio cuts out during an addition, stop at the cup’s current state and ask which dose the outside player actually selected. Compare that with the last confirmed row of the checklist. A missed spoken confirmation does not establish that the chemical was missed too. Inspect the addition you can observe before issuing another selector command, because an extra dose would change the mixture you later check.
Keep the word “ready” for the receiving position and “added” for the completed dose. The inside player calls readiness; the player observing the addition confirms completion. This small distinction is useful at the final return to Styrene, where it is easy to advance to the check button while the cup is still moving.
Leave the mixer with the room in its solved state
After the station accepts the recipe, inspect the opened route and continue the R&D machinery sequence. Keep the normal-sized player available for the next external controls while the miniature explorer follows the small passage. The next guide covers the cartridge and paired-dial doors, including the two groups that must be completed before the printer grid activates.
