The 1.0 Puke Potion removes ongoing food buffs. Use it when you deliberately want to clear the current food setup; it is not a targeted replacement of just one benefit.

Reviewed October 17, 2026 · 1.0 release and Hotfix 1.0.0.2 source review

Plan the replacement meal before clearing the existing effects. Otherwise an attempt to improve preparation can leave the character without the benefits you intended to keep. Treat changing food as a loadout decision rather than an emergency action taken without checking the result.

Should you clear your food setup?

SituationResult of using the potionDecision
You want to replace the whole active mealAll ongoing food buffs are removedPrepare the replacement foods first, then reset.
You want to preserve two buffs and remove only oneThe removal affects all ongoing food buffsDo not treat it as selective removal; plan how to restore the desired benefits.
You want to remove a different negative statusFood-buff removal does not establish a general cureCheck that status’s own rules rather than relying on this potion.

Worked planning example

Suppose your current meal contains three useful food buffs, but you want to change one of them. The Puke Potion clears the entire active food setup. Have the foods needed for the intended replacement setup ready, including the benefits you want to regain. The potion does not preserve the other two effects while editing one slot.

The developer places the recipe in personal crafting. Read its actual ingredient requirements in your installed version; the announcement confirms its function and crafting location, rather than a fixed ingredient list.

What to do, in order

  1. Read the currently active food benefits and decide what you want to replace. Write the desired role of each replacement rather than assuming every food helps the same resource.
  2. Inspect the Puke Potion in personal crafting and its current requirements. Use the recipe shown in the installed build.
  3. Prepare the intended replacement foods before consuming the potion. Clear the buffs only when you are ready to rebuild the setup.
  4. Check the active effects afterwards and confirm that the new meal supplies the benefits you planned. Do not judge success from the consumption animation alone.

Match the situation to the right check

A useful food benefit vanished as well

The documented operation clears ongoing food buffs. Do not expect it to preserve selected benefits while replacing another.

You wanted to solve a different negative effect

A food-reset description is not evidence of a general cure. Check the actual status and the item description before spending it.

Conditions and limits

The release note establishes food-buff removal, not a healing amount, an optimal meal or a cure for every status. No recipe quantities are guessed here.

Sources and version notes

The documented behavior comes from Keen Games’ Release trailer, changelog... everything you need to wait for tomorrow!. Hotfix 1.0.0.2 provides the later migration, world-settings and localization corrections discussed where relevant. The ordering and diagnostic comparisons are independent editorial guidance. We do not claim a personal playtest, guaranteed recovery or a measured combat result. Check later patch notes if your build differs.
