Click the thread spools to change sewing thread colour. This control is documented in the developer’s Build 410 patch notes. It concerns thread; do not treat it as a way to recolour the fabric or change an accessory.

Source reviewed October 16, 2026. This is a source-based guide, not a gameplay test. Checklists and diagrams are our own planning aids; they do not describe a verified scoring formula.

Make one change at a time

Before changing a colour, decide which part of the appearance you want to alter. Write “thread”, “fabric”, or “decoration” in your notes. This simple separation is our troubleshooting approach: it keeps a thread-control question from turning into an unrelated search for a different material.

Record the current appearance, use the spool control, and inspect the result before making another change. If you also alter fabric or decorations, you lose a clear comparison. This is a suggested observation method, not a claim that the game automatically records changes or offers an undo action at every stage.

A small comparison sheet

Your goalRecord before changingCheck afterwards
Blend the thread visuallyThe fabric area you want it to blend withWhether the visible result matches your intention
Create contrastYour intended contrast in plain wordsWhether the contrast is visible where you expected
Investigate a control issueBuild, current screen, and selected controlWhat actually changed, including no visible change

These are design goals you choose, not hidden customer requirements. We have no verified evidence that a particular thread colour provides a score bonus. Avoid spending resources on a supposed universal “best colour” without evidence for the specific commission.

If clicking does not appear to work

First check that you are using the spools rather than looking for the same option in a fabric selection. Then compare your installed version with the update that introduced the control. If you still cannot see a change, note the exact screen and result. A useful report says which control was clicked and what remained unchanged; it does not assume that an unrelated quest or fabric is responsible.

We have not reproduced a failure here, so this is not a confirmed bug fix. Keep your existing save and avoid drastic steps such as reinstalling or restarting a commission until you have a reason specific to your situation.

Keep the final check separate

After choosing an appearance, return to the actual customer request and compare it with your notes. A colour you prefer is not necessarily something the customer asked for. Our commission planner keeps copied requirements and optional design ideas in separate fields so that you can tell them apart at a glance.
